Not just necessarily vertebrates/invertebrates, but also plant life, rock types, etc, extinct or extant. When I say interesting, I mean pretty much anything. Interesting features, behaviour, shapes, colours, textures, so on. Would be really nice if they add to a horror/creep factor, but not necessary. To give you an idea, some of the things I've found interesting are the strange eyes of Ipnops; the hunting habits and generally ugly appearance of the stargazer fish; the pharyngeal jaw of moray eels; the eldritch dentition of the extinct Atopodentatus before a non-crushed skull was found and showed it to be a prehistoric vacuum cleaner. Really, though, don't let that limit any suggestions you might have!
I would probably restrict this to saltwater, anywhere in the world, but I'm not averse to looking at freshwater stuff either.
As for why I'm asking, I'm currently gathering inspiration for creature designs for Rogue Magic, my personal project. It's a story about a gang of thieves who steal a magical artefact and accidentally unleash a sealed-away power which now very much wants them. While, yes, I'm designing creatures, plants/rocks/etc can be extremely inspirational for shape language and other features, so I don't want to exclude or overlook anything. I'd be extremely grateful if anyone's got stuff to share!

Reflections on art
Includes a few sketches I haven't posted anywhere else.
2017's been quite the year. Parts of it have been really rough, not gonna lie, health's been in the gutter for the most part, but things are looking brighter now and I'm in a better place than I've been for the past few years. There are still a few bumps in the road ahead, but I'm gonna take my victories where I can get them.
So, art. Didn't get to where I want to be this year, unfortunately, but you know what? I figured out a lot of stuff about myself, about my art, and where I want to go, so while this year was extremely disappointing in terms of finished artwork, it was very rewardi
Cattle Rustler: calling quits, but you can read it
The rough-sketched comic can be read here in its entirety: sta.sh/2cweyiu2gtv
It is inconsistent, it is wildly unfinished, there are things that could have been a lot better, but I'm calling quits for now. So, why scrap it when I'm close to the finish? And why upload the scrapped version for all to see?
I set out to work on this story for entirely wrong reasons. So, I dunno if you all remember, but back in the summer of 2015 I posted this practice page:
My plan originally was to make a practice page every other month or so. Random content, one-shots, just to experiment with and get a feel of the medium. It was suggested to me that making a
Oh hey, it's almost summer
Hello, everyone, time for an update again.
So! I handed in my bachelor thesis today! It's been intense, especially since my working conditions have been less than optimal. I have had construction work going on right outside my place from 7-5, and sometimes 7-7, every weekday and even the occasional Saturday, since October. Needless to say, I'm exhausted, and my workdesk has been unavailable for a huge chunk of the day. That means I've had to prioritise the thesis once the construction work quit for the day, and I've simply been too fried to do much art (or anything else, for that matter).
I am also moving this weekend, so I'll be tied up fo
Comic update
It's been a good few months since the last update, and I'm just about to enter the production stage, so here's a brief update on what I've done since the previous journal, and what the plan is from here! Click here for the previous journal, in case you want a refresher before reading this one. So, without further ado, the update:
Cattle Rustler got an additional page added for better pacing (it now clocks in at 38 pages), went out for and came back from a third and final round of critique, and I made a simple Sketchup model for the locations, one of which will be showed off in this journal.
Spoiler alert, it is a giant castle. The buildings

I don't know much marine life, but in terms of interesting I think that the barrel-eye fish looks very interesting o:
What about the blobfish, salp, or black swallower? I don't know.
Also comb jellies, and nudibranches.
